GAIA provides legal document preparation, translation, and related support services only. We are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice, full representation, or advocacy before USCIS, EOIR, federal courts, or any other court.

Under federal and administrative regulations, limited assistance is permitted in certain circumstances:

  • EOIR Regulations (8 C.F.R. §§ 1003.17(b), 1003.38(g)(2)): Practitioners may enter a limited appearance for document assistance by filing Form EOIR‑60 (Board of Immigration Appeals) or EOIR‑61 (Immigration Court). Limited representation is defined as “the drafting, completing, or filing in of blank spaces of a specific motion, brief, form, or other document or set of documents intended to be filed with the Immigration Court or the Board of Immigration Appeals.”

  • USCIS Regulations (8 C.F.R. § 103.2(a)(3)): If someone other than the applicant prepares a form, the preparer must sign the designated “Preparer” section. This ensures transparency while allowing pro se applicants to receive partial assistance without creating a full attorney‑client relationship.

  • Definition of Practitioner (8 C.F.R. § 1003.101(b); 8 C.F.R. § 1001.1(ff)): The rule defines a “practitioner” as an individual authorized to provide representation, including attorneys, accredited representatives, law students, law graduates, reputable individuals, and accredited officials. This definition clarifies who may enter appearances before EOIR and under what capacity.

  • Other Federal Agencies (SSA, DOL, etc.): Agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Labor (DOL) also permit representatives to assist with specific filings or hearings. In these contexts, disclosure forms or notices are often required to clarify the limited nature of the assistance provided.

Our role is limited to assisting with the preparation of specific documents. We do not assume ongoing obligations beyond the scope of the document assistance provided. Clients remain self‑represented (“pro se”) and maintain full control of their cases.

By using our services, you acknowledge that GAIA is a document preparation service provider, not a law firm, and that our assistance is limited to ensuring clarity, compliance, and confidence in your filings.
